Abstract

Objective: To explore the effect of wrist-ankle needle combined with five-tone therapy in pain management for inpatients in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and to summarize the nursing experience. Methods: A total of 86 inpatients with moderate to severe pain who were treated in the Department of Traditional Chinese Medicine of our hospital from January 2023 to December 2023 were selected. The patients were randomly divided into the observation group and the control group using the random number table method, with 43 cases in each group. The control group received routine pain care, while the observation group received wrist and ankle needle combined with five-tone therapy in addition to routine care for 7 consecutive days. The VAS scores, onset time of analgesia, clinical efficacy, and PSQI scores were compared between the two groups before the intervention and on the 3rd and 7th days after the intervention. Results: On the 3rd and 7th days after the intervention, the VAS scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group, the onset time of analgesia was shorter than that of the control group, the total clinical effective rate was higher than that of the control group, and the PSQI score on the 7th day after the intervention was also lower than that of the control group. The differences were statistically significant (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Wrist-ankle needle combined with five-tone therapy has a good effect on pain in inpatients of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department, shortening the onset time of analgesia, improving clinical efficacy, and enhancing sleep quality. This method is simple and safe. Combined with targeted nursing intervention, it can improve the medical experience of patients and has clinical promotion significance.
