Abstract

Blockchain technology, as a revolutionary tool, is profoundly changing the way the financial field works. Its application has expanded from digital currency to many fields, such as smart contracts, cross-border payments, trade finance, and digital identity management, providing important support for simplifying financial service processes, reducing costs, and improving efficiency. However, the widespread application of blockchain technology still faces challenges such as scalability, regulatory compliance, and cybersecurity, limiting its full integration in the financial industry. This study systematically reviews the status quo, development history, and future trends of blockchain technology application in the financial sector, analyzes its key role in capital markets, decentralized finance (DeFi), and other fields, and explores the potential of emerging solutions such as hybrid blockchain and dynamic regulatory frameworks.
