Abstract

Intercultural competence is an important competence of graduate students. It affects students’ ability to participate in transnational research collaboration and international academic conferences, understand cultural diversity, engage in intercultural cooperation, and respond to complex communicative situations. In response to the problems in the Intercultural Communication course, such as a lack of real contextual learning, limited personalized study, and insufficient feedback, this paper presents an AI-empowered “Three-Stage, Six-Loop” teaching model. The three stages are pre-class, in-class, and post-class learning; the six loops are diagnosis, immersion, collaboration, output, reflection, and evaluation. Meanwhile, based on the knowledge graph and generative-AI-based scenario simulation, the paper explains the feasibility of enhancing intercultural competence and learning proficiency, providing a practical paradigm for the development of a smart course in Intercultural Communication for graduate students.
